The only way I see value in 4 years is if a team feels like it can win a cup in the first two years of that contract. Edmonton, Carolina, Dallas, Colorado, Vegas, Toronto.

Dach is the last resort. Hughes will try to find a second line center but won’t be alone in doing so. Unlike other moron GMs however, Hughes won’t overpay.
Anaheim makes too much sense for Ekblad though. I’m sure he’ll get offers from multiple Canadian teams and end up in the States.
I’m not certain Marchand reups with Florida either. He got his cup and has one last 3-4 year contract in him for retirement.
South Florida is a nice place to live in comparison to most other NHL cities.
That shouldn’t be discounted as part of it for 20-something millionaires.
