Him and Wes Anderson notoriously fought like cats and dogs on set, and Hackman was miserable the whole shoot…..which is batshit to me, cause you’d never in a million years guess that from his performance. He comes across like someone having the time of their life in that role, almost with a jazz...

The Conversation is fucking brilliant too, and is weirdly overlooked a bit in Hackman/Coppola’s filmography’s….its up there with the best of them. ….and I’m with you on Tenenbaums…it’s my personal favourite/most watched movie. Watch it once a year easily, and love it every time.
