I can see the arguments for both sides, it’s just the group we have now isn’t that promising. Bringing in Giannis to partner with Barnes seems like you’re getting closer to a chip than going with what we have, even looking a few years down the line IMO.
I prefer getting Giannis and building around him than going with what we have right now. If he wants to be here a trade makes sense with Masai coveting him for years. But, as mentioned, if we’re bidding against the Nets it’ll be difficult.
We really could have used some luck this year and moved up into the top 4, this was a rare opportunity to add that franchise guy. Next season we’ll likely be out of the bottom 10.
I’m not a fan of the group of guys we have, there’s some talent there but no one with upside to really get...
I’d say he probably stays. He’s from here, has played here his entire career and a long time with several members of the team. We should also be competitive for a few more years and he could break a bunch of franchise records plus there’s the chance to be part of the team that ends our Cup...
The good thing about this series is at least it’s just tied and we have home ice advantage. We can still win the series. Berube needs to get the boys ready for the most important games of their career.
