Well... obviously not ALL 84 years. That wouldn't make sense.

Yeah this is not good. They adjust well and we haven't readjusted... until now!!!

Okay, a little less ambiguous than other wording... so Carrier's head did appear to be above waist level there. So a missed call.

Yeah, the more we discuss it, the more I'm thinking I was wrong. Like 100% of the time that you see the situation, it's the "victim" who is falling and it's not a penalty. This is the first time I recall seeing the "offender" on his knees as well... but I guess Dobson's stick is above his...

Oh, I didn't realize you were the arbiter of what's right and what's wrong and if I can post or not. I thought I was being respectful. Sorry to bother you.

Even at 4' or 5' his head wouldn't be in the high sticking range.

Lol... the screen cap shows Carrier is on his knees... so I guess we need to know if it matters that the "offender" is also on his knees.

I mean we've seen it for years, a player is falling and takes a stick to the face and there's no penalty. I guess we never see it where both players are falling.

How tall is Carrier? How can a stick possibly be high if he's on his knees?

    Around the League 2019-2026 Edition

It looks like a high stick because you are not taking into account that his knees are on the ground which means his head is at about 3 ft off the ice. 3 ft off the ice is not high sticking.

If you're not in control of your stick and it goes high then yes it is a penalty. If you're not in control of your stick and it hits somebody at 3 ft high then it cannot be a high stick.

I wouldn't have been surprised. I'm glad that the ref called it 2 minutes after reviewing it.

    Playoff GDT: Round 3, Game 2 Canes v. Habs 5/23 7:00

Nope not at all. You've been watching hockey a long time and you know that it cannot be a high stick if the stick is not high. If the ref deemed that he slashed them in the face he could have called slashing I suppose. But you cannot call a high stick when the stick is not high. His stick is 3...

His knees are on the ice and Dobson's stick is maybe 3 ft off the ice. Cannot be a high stick.

I never said that one isn't penalty. It absolutely was and it was a really stupid one.

    Playoff GDT: Round 3, Game 2 Canes v. Habs 5/23 7:00

His knees are on the ice. There is no way it could possibly be high sticking.

    Playoff GDT: Round 3, Game 2 Canes v. Habs 5/23 7:00

Ditto... Carrier's knees are on the ice when the stick hits him... Which means the stick was about 3 ft high. Not high sticking.

Hopefully they show it again, but it looks like Carrier was on his knees, therefore it's impossible that the sick was "high."

    Playoff GDT: Round 3, Game 2 Canes v. Habs 5/23 7:00

The stick that hit him wasn't high because he was on his knees. The stick was about waist high. You see it all the time, players fall down and get a stick in the face and there's no call, because the stick isn't actually "high."
