We do … and they do seem to be taking it to a new level. I’m, of course, willing to allow that NHL officiating sucks. I do NOT subscribe to the idea that they have in any way had their thumb on the scales in this series. 90% of what they “miss” is missed for game management reasons and the rest...
Just got a fan survey from the NHL judging interest in club-led outdoor games. Sounds like Dundon is fishing to see if there’s enough support to try to organize their own outdoor game instead of waiting for the NHL to eventually get around to it.
Nikishin found his legs again in Game 3 and then took off last night. That concussion took a bigger toll on him than anybody has been willing to discuss. But with all three pairings firing, the D has done what it was designed to do.
And that’s something else nobody seems to want to talk about...
Love Andy … a cornerstone of the Scottish team for a long time now. I was kind of hoping he’d decide to skip the Spurs mess and go enjoy playing in Italy instead. I’ll be happy to be able to watch him play more often though.
I saw some speculation that Gordon’s weekly wages will be roughly one third what Rashford gets. He’s still quite a good player, but his salary is just so far out of whack with what Rashford actually does that it makes him impossible to navigate.
Yeah. The Dolans took advantage of having a combined ownership platform for as long as it was actually an advantage. Now they have more flexibility if they split the entities, so they’re doing that. I would imagine Dolan will make some cash reducing his position, but there’s almost no chance he...
Both Toronto and Montreal suffer from too much exposure to media that is fandom in disguise. The NY and Boston markets are starting to get that way now, with the demise of print media where you at least had some level of professionalism in the sports press. But the Canadian markets had a big...
Yeah. Figured.
Look though. That kind of fan reaction is what he’s trying to generate. He’s playing a wrestling heel at this point and he knows exactly what he’s doing. I say that your anger is misdirected and should be aimed at the morons at ESPN who think we need to be manipulated like that...
Honestly, on the game itself, I have very little to say. Freddie made a couple of nice saves but didn’t have much to do because of the ridiculous performance of the team in front of him. Everybody pitched in, but for the second game in a row the Miller/Walker pairing was insanely effective...
Call whatever the heck Anderson was doing in the 2nd period whatever you want but I don’t think it’s helpful waiving it off as frustration. I get that it’s difficult when you get your ass kicked like that, especially at home. You know what doesn’t fix that? Acting like a spoiled child and...
Yup. If you’re even thinking of dressing a guy you don’t want taking a regular shift, then Carolina is the wrong opponent. Gallagher, I could see though. He only adds sandpaper, really, but Dach has been struggling in this series.
I wondered if Saudi investment in Newcastle was going to continue apace … I’m guessing maybe not. Then again, with the stupid financial rules, that could net them a tidy profit to re-invest. Newcastle, like Villa, just doesn’t have the ancillary revenue to spend like the teams that have massive...
Sure. Hard to begrudge Pete for running out of money. Maybe I still blame him a little for not selling sooner, but he found a quality buyer when he did pull the trigger and that’s FAR from a given.
