The plot thickens, lol. Scuttlebutt apparently from a WPG reporter. Might be total bullshit. But there seems to be a lot of smoke around this kid making all these demands. I hope it's untrue. But if it is. NO THANK YOU...
You're kidding, right? We're talking about potential here. They're all prospects. And Mailloux has already proven more than McGroarty. And actually, so has Hutson. And can you really say they don't have EACH as much upside as McGroarty? Since when has McGroarty turned into such a huge prize...
I'm not sure the kind of prospect McGroarty is. But trading a 1st (and Habsy for all we know it ends up being 11th pick next year and a slim chance it bumps to an unprotected CGY pick in 2026), 2, 22 and younger prospects, one being highly valued RD...that's essentially 3 first round picks for...
I don't disagree with quality bests quantity...to a point. For me it comes down to how is McGroarty seen value-wise today. 'Cause the way I look at it is, maybe we can draft a McGroarty with that CGY pick and still have those other assets in our back pocket. Again, is McGroarty that good that...
I didn't realize McGroarty is an elite prospect. And I think you're undervaluing our assets. Especially, Barron. Polarizing player, but I personally see a lot of promise for this 22 year old RD. Plus a 1st next year? And are we completely writing off Mesar? He's not a prospect anymore having...
Here's one of those FWIW posts. Is Mcgroarty THAT good? If this is true, that sure seems a lot for this guy.

How much do you trust this info and this source? Reason I ask, is that at the time, I read actual Russian (FWIW) local news reports, translated, that said he had known heart issues, was a heavy smoker and drinker (common in Russia), and that they suspected it was a heart attack that led to him...
I don't think the team cares about the extremists. Nor do I for that matter. They're the minority anyway. People will always find a reason to be miserably whiners. However, it makes for a nice story for the average Quebecer who aren't extreme, but like the fact the kid can speak French very...
I wanted Michkov, 100%. So having said that, I think there is some fire to the smoke about attitude etc. And they're clearly being very selective to build the "culture" they want. I think that's the biggest reason. However, looking at it from a strictly hockey perspective, considering how high...
We'll see how it turns out. As you know, I think Catton is a far superior player to Dickinson. Like by a lot. He'll work out with a fire hydrant, IMO. As that's pretty much who his linemates were where he scored 54 goals and 116 points. And both "undersized". Either way, it'll be fun to see how...
Whether it was by design in this regard or not, they also managed to scratch the Quebecois itch without drafting a pure laine Quebecer. An ethnic kid that speaks French and grew up around Montreal and a die-hard Habs fan. Quite a coup in a sense getting someone with all that, rated that high, in...
They probably scouted him more than any team. Thing about Catton, IMO, is cognitively, he reminded me of Slaf in the 1st half of last season. Many of the games I watched of his in his D-1 year and the start of his D year, he maybe gave the impression he was uninvolved/floating without the puck...
He's the only guy I had as a potential 2nd overall outside of Catton. Still love Cattons potential. He's more creative offensively than all of them. He makes plays/moves I've never seen before. The fact Demidov grew 2.5 inches this year bumped him up for me. The size can only help. And he's...
Wasn't sure which thread to post this. So figured this was as good as any. This just popped-up on my feed. Looks like it will be an insightful series on Russian hockey. Maybe provide us some insights regarding the leagues and Demidovs playground.

I hear ya. I'm just basing that on my own views of watching him play. He has excellent instincts/IQ offensively and a decent release. Showed it in Laval. Kloten was an offensive black hole. No one created offense on that POS team with that POS coach.
Thing is, based on Levshunov going #2, and so many RHD's going very early, I think Reinbacher would probably had gone very early in this draft. I think they made the right decision in that context. And IMO I don't see what Levshunov has over Reinbacher. A bit more offensive, but not as good...
