If I understand the psychotic conditions on that pick, it becomes an unprotected lottery pick in 2026 IF the Flames finish last overall next year. Pray to the hockey gods. That at least may give is a shot at Gavin McKenna if CGY is a lottery team in 2026.
How can you not love this kid? And Hugo. We really have to thank our lucky stars that we hired the right GM this time. It's been a looooooong time since players have had this kind of hunger to be Habs. Something a long succession of poor ownership decisions and even poorer management decisions...
Awesome 👍😎👍
All these core signings are going to be huge bargains going forward. And they send a clear signal that we are building a team atmosphere of brothers in arms. Having a formidable front office (for once in a long time) is refreshing.
Demidov has played center. And with his growth to over 6 ft and added weight, can you imagine a line of?:
Slaf LW
Demidov C
Michkov RW
Slaf and Demidov have awesome vision and are elite passers. And Michkovs shot is in Bedard territory. They'd be 100pts+ all three of them, IMO.
He needs to start working with our skating coaches to adjust his skating style so he isn't on the IR all the time. I looked into his style and found it's called the 10&2. In one form or another, other famous players with that style were: Bobby Orr, Saku Koivu and Pavel Bure. And besides having...
The more I watched of this kid while putting my list together, the more I liked him. The caveats were injury history and weak MHL competition. We'll know for sure what exactly we have, when he suits-up in the KHL next year. Super high skill, obviously. But compared to Michkov, who I watched a...
Exactly! I wanted Michkov. And there's no denying his talent. But for Bobrov to not take him in light of that talent, leads me to believe there is truth to the scuttlebutt regarding his character. I mean, 6 teams passed on him even though talent-wise he was likely #2.
They re-upped it. Actually some good info. As suspected, Bobrov leveraged his dad's position to gain some unique insights. They knew Demidov very well. This also tells me, that these insights are what led to us avoiding Michkov last year.

Lots of good prospects left for day #2. From my personal board. These guys went undrafted from top to bottom.
Chernyshov
Stiga
Basha
Artamonov
Mews
Freij
Badinka
Ritchie
We have 2 decent 3rds. Numbers 70 and 78.
Some similarities style-wise to Catton and Connelly. Just hard to peg USHL and how it translates. At least for me when trying to assess these guys. Didn't realize all the Hab/Quebec connections. Liking the pick more and more.
