Hoover's VP was part native American so Harris is not first non white VP. Never been a Native American cabinet secretary but there might be one next year. Probably would run Interior Dept. I was really surprised that there are actually 574 recognized US tribes . I assume some are very small and not all get benefits like Lumbees. Also people think of inner cities being very poor but some native reservations are among the poorest counties in the US. I'm not Native in case you are wondering.
I remember driving past the Salamanca reservation in PA or NY in mid to late 60s and thinking that place looks poor. Could have been no older than 6.

The Saginaw Chippewa Reservation borders Mt Pleasant, MI, home of the Central Michigan University Chippewas*. It used to be an extremely impoverished area until they opened a casino and shared the wealth with all members of that particular reservation. The tribal government had to institute very rigorous tests to verify a person's eligibility because as you can imagine, every single person in central Michigan and beyond was claiming Chippewa blood. I had a friend that lived on the reservation and we used to pick him up and drop him off and it was such a depressing sight until the casino opened.

*The tribal government allows the university to use the name as long as there are no symbols of violence or war attached to the usage of the name. If you look closely at the university's sporting teams, there no likenesses of Native Americans and no weapons of war. They used to have a spear on their helmet from the early '70s through the late '80s, but ditched it because of the agreement.

Jordan spent $120 mil on a free agent for Hornets. Maybe just for a tax write off

No Duke BB Wed due to CV at Gardner Webb. Probably a lot more BB games canceled this year Don't know why the ACC is playing these crap games. I guess for the money

other shows have done tryouts such as the Kelly Ripa show.

NCSU BB having 25 fans per game. Which is 25 more than Duke. Don't think UNC has announced their plan

25 are friends/family of players. I guess 2 tickets per player.

ACC BB tourney moving back to Greensboro in March. I hear there is a new Burger King there!!

25 fans will be in Reynolds. They may end up playing the whole season there. No need to use PNC for such a small crowd. I know the contract says NCSU are required to play around 18 games in PNC but I don't think Dundon would be too upset about losing games with very small crowds.

Bengals v Jaguars this weekend will be the first ever matchup of perfect quarterbacks. Ryan Finley v Mike Glennon. The defenses don't have a chance. The over/under total points is 138

The Bengals wrecked the NC State party by benching Ryan Finley for Brandon Allen.

I'm not a college football fan in general, but it is still pretty amazing to me that NC State has so many NFL QBs in the league at the same time. 5 is a pretty impressive number to me even if the majority of them are not very good.

I mean, the majority of QBs in the NFL don't seem to be very good right now so I think State's batting average is in the median range. It's a weird, remarkable and quirky era that has landed so many NC State QBs in the NFL at the same time. State fans bitch a lot, but we've been blessed to root for some fairly special QBs in the last 20 years.

Not to mention a few 'special' ones!

Iowa St. last won a conference title in 1912 and that was a co championship with Nebraska and they only played 2 conference games not including Nebraska 6-2 overall. Lost to Minnesota and Iowa. Radio did not exist then. They have a good shot this year to win Big 12.
