2019-Whenever Misc. Grab Bag Thread

That’s the easy math but They don’t even have to win out. All they have to do is split with Tampa. The Panthers can clinch the NFC South with a victory over the Saints and a win the following week against the Buccaneers. They will own the tiebreakers. But their own fans keep shitting on the Panthers even though they have been much better with a very young team. Whatever floats Your boat I guess

So the Panthers spit the bit in New Orleans ... again. Superdome is a house of horrors for that team

Also, Rivers played credibly for the Colts even though they lost. But by poor man looked like he was in an alley fight after the game. He's gonna need ALL the coldpacks.

Yea. They blew that one mainly because, like I’ve said, Bryce just ain’t it. They better not extend him. The defense did what a young but talented defense does, played inconsistently in the 4th quarter. The good thing is that I see vast improvement from the team as a whole and I think Canales is a really good coach with a bright future. They need a couple of ‘dudes’ on defense…edge rusher and a linebacker or 2 and an offensive lineman. They can do ok with Bryce until a really good qb comes available because this years draft if not qb rich.

They have a ton of draft capital due to some strategic trades that hurt them short term but set them up nicely for the future IF they draft the right guys. I think the future is not so bleak for the panthers, even with Tepper at the helm. If he’ll keep his grubby little fingers out of it and let Morgan handle personnel I think they will be good dinner tether than later. They still have the division of they can just take care of business at home with Tampa and Seattle. 🤞

Just glad no one blew out an ACL…looks like half the league blew one out yesterday. All big names too

Oh, they're trending up for sure. Here's my issue ... they are only marginally better this year than last year. That in and of itself is a good thing, but because they have a chance to win that TERRIBLE division, people are acting like they're a contender. They aren't. They're a .500 which is such a huge step forward that it should be appreciated on its own merit. Is Young "the guy?" I don't know, and don't really care. He IS the guy who got them back to not being embarrassing. And for my low bar, that's good enough for right now.

As for the future, I honestly don't trust Dan Morgan but here's hoping he can continue to improve his roster talent. And maybe find a better secondary coach and/or defensive passing game coordinator.
 
Contender? No but getting to the playoffs would do wonders for the team. I trust Morgan much more than the last 2 clowns. Tepper is the one I don’t trust
 
FWIW, most of the guys who cover the Panthers say that Tepper hasn't really been seen much this season and certainly hasn't gotten anywhere near a podium. Also, he's managed to avoid tipping drinks on fans in road stadiums, so that's nice. He may actually be figuring out that he's been the problem.

My photographer buddy shoots all their home games for Getty and he sees him every Sunday upstairs. Maybe he’s staying away from microphones but he’s in the building every week. And he is his usual look at me boisterous self

He is great in the community and with local charities. Never afraid to give money….. and that’s awesome. He just needs to stay away from personnel decisions. Not every owner can do that with their money, but off they went to be successful most of them should
 
Cold night for the match, but a damn good turn out for it. I saw quite a bit of purple in the stands, too. At least on the TV anyway.
 
Yeah, State just seemed to have emptied the tank clawing back the 2 goal deficit to get to OT. Shame. Still, it was a heck of a season for a program that hasn't had a ton of success over the years.
 
Someone asked me a while back about my collection from when I worked for the canes. Here is a picture of a part of it from the man cave. I am in the middle of painting and replacing old ass furniture so I figured I better get the photo before I take it all down. Plus I have to redo the jerseys. Somehow they came unpinned and are all cattywompus and jacked up.

I know most of you are State fans, but For anyone interested….. I usually just do photos, but I wrote my first article when I did a behind the scenes piece last night. They are about to tear down that old building and build a new one at Carolina north campus by the old airport, so I thought I’d do one while we had another photographer available to do the game photos.
