Even if it's only 2 and Androckitis isn't Hockey Bob McKenzie, it's still a massive screwup by the org. It was no secret that 1) we weren't going to have an AHL team, and 2) these guys 99% weren't making the big squad. They've had plenty of time to work this out privately with the player / agent where to loan them before having to walk an ECHL assignment back publicly. Looks bad on Waddell & Co from all perspectives (player/agent, working relationship with Norfolk, the talking heads and writers, etc...)

Hopefully it's only a one year bump in the road and all this shit gets settled next year with an AHL affiliate and this nonsense is put to bed, it's a stain regardless for the Canes development of future players.

Yup ... that's why he's in the ECHL where the stakes are lower. You'd hope he'd be a bit more ready for pro hockey than some since he's 23 years old, but one of his college seasons was basically a wash thanks to pandemic.
