2025 NHL UFA/Trade Thread

I’m glad we didn’t make foolish trades….

But we should’ve traded a few expiring contracts. I understand that HuGo are juggling rebuild with keeping young core happy (Suzuki-Cole). By keeping some of their buddies (they are close with Dvorak), it’s HuGo’s way of keeping them happy without making foolish trades….cost him nothing
Still you don’t turn down a few decent offers for vets who are not coming back

If the Habs miss the playoffs it looks even worse

Hugo was never making a stupid trade

Was an exciting trade deadline until stupid Boston gave Toronto a Dman for free. That move really annoyed me. Hopefully they lose the division and out in the first or second round

We must remember that Sabres players don't actually live IN Buffalo proper, they live in very nice enclaves nearby. Harry Neale and Scotty Bowman both live in Western New York. But yeah, Buffalo itself and Niagara Falls NY are absolute hell holes.
Meh, suburbs are suburbs, there is nice ones everywhere, you don’t pick a place because it has nice suburbs.

And yet they did. It’s not like we are going to lose top players for nothing. We’re talking about 2 bottom forwards and a bottom defenseman. It’s going to be ok.

I expect both Armia and Savard (7th Dman) to be resigned

Apron Basu had mentioned last training camp, Armia loves it in Mtl, and is willing to take a hometown discount, let’s see…

Armia - has to be a pay cut, 2 years.

Savard… league min, one year. I sense he’s be ok hanging out and not playing much.

To be fair, Armia has played pretty consistently this season. He doesn’t do much offensively but he doesn't hurt us and unlike Anderson he doesn't take dumb penalties.

If we had a more productive 2nd line the 3rd would be fine.
