Exactly. So how many more non physical players can we have? Demidov, Caufield and now Marner? Who is making room on the ice for these guys to work in a playoff series? Also, when has Marner done anything other than suck in big games?

I don’t mind it for talented defensemen or franchise players. Otherwise no, I’m with you.

I say defensemen because their curve is different from forwards. Their peak years are generally 27-34, while forwards are more like 23-31.

Not that it never works out for the Habs, but Duchene did grow up as a Hab fan. It would be cool if he was willing to take a team friendly deal for a couple of years.

I take Tavares at 3 years $7.5m max. Not that he would but I do that deal.

Bennett has never played with Demidov and Laine with Hutson on the back end. As a second line center he should get 60. It's his grit that I really like. Opposing players genuinely hate playing against him, like they did Weber.

Anderson doesn't play anywhere near as gritty.

Also, Anderson has a room temperature hovkey IQ. I doubt Bennett is that stupid.
