Habs presently sit at approx $1.1M over cap ceiling - unless a deal is announced expecting Xhekaj to be sent to Laval in paper transaction ($1.3M) and placing Price on in season LTIR creating $9.3M cap space w Laine also on LTIR Habs will likely have $11M+ AAV

Another tank season coming up. The Laine injury exposed their lack of high-end depth up front. Another top 5 pick will be very helpful.
Laine was only a stop gap and depth was still going to be a problem
Its not tanking , simply not good enough

Helpful? Perhaps… but PP will be top-5 w Hutson taking over as QB and 3-on-3 OT will be dominant
Add to it IF Laine fully recovers in 3-4 months as stated by org, then Habs are vying for a playoff spot IMO

I'm not so sure about that. In preseason the power play did look more dangerous and entertaining with Hutson but they didn't actually score any goals.

that is disingenuous as he is including OT/shootout goals against as losses but not factoring in the games we won in OT/shootout
