All-time Habs team

You laugh but I've been searching for years and there was barely any footage available. Looks like there is a few more highlights available now though.
Most of the footage was lost because the CBC didn't archive the tapes, they just reused them. So that great comeback against the Bruins in 71 got erased so that they could tape an episode of the Tommy Hunter show or some shit. Fortunately, WSBK in Boston not only archived it, but archived it in color. Even where an old CBC tape exists, it's usually in black and white even if it was broadcast in color.

I don't have Gainey ahead of Shutt and definitely not the second best left winger in team history, fuck if anything, I have Dickie Moore ahead of both of them.

Gainey would be the best two way player in team history, and it is also fair to say our record when he was out was far worse than when even Guy was out.

Aurel Joliat was the Habs all time best LW - 2nd all time in goals by Habs LW behind Shutt despite never playing in a season w more than 48GP

Still remember how Joliat almost tripped over the red carpet taking a breakaway on Plante celebrating Habs 75th anniversary team Sat night HNIC.

Robinson & Gainey almost had a heart attack

I just tweaked that post - Joliat almost fell face first tripping over the red carpet, never saw Big Bird skate faster to try & save him
At that point in his life Joliat was still skating regularly for exercise. He was better on the blades than a much younger Rocket Richard was at the 93 ASG when he fell on the Cup and dented it.

Plenty of former Habs were douchebags. You're just a hypocrite.
To my recollection, Shutt wasn't a douchebag. Lafleur was pretty douchey though. Hanging out at the disco with all the ladies while his wife and kids were back in Baie D'Urfe wondering when he'd roll in and in what condition.

Any other former Habs we should know about? I know Chelios had his moments and probably Nilan when he was drinking. Corson too.

I remember watching a Habs game in 89. I turned it off right at the end, and drove about 3 minutes to Crescent Street (I lived on Hutchison off Sherbrooke). As I was rolling along Crescent, I saw Courtnall and Corson going up the steps to one of the regular drinking establishments. I chuckled, as I wonder how they got there that quick-10 minutes tops...... OK, but no more than 15.
