Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

Apparently Brock Boeser is on the trade block. I realize he's had injuries and not lived up to the hype his first year, but it's just funny Vancouver has no cap before they even see the playoffs and this comes out.

apparently Demko could be had as well...could help our goaltending depth maybe

Would he clear waivers though? He's not as good as Jack. Would be nice to have 3 NHL calibre goalies in the system though, absolutely.

1. Maintain and expand control over labour
2. Reduce cost of labour

100+ years of corporate history on this.

1. Guarantee players 50% of revenues.
2. As a result, guarantee franchise survival and thus more jobs for players in perpetuity.

Always felt like Bobby Holik was the final nail in the coffin of the NHL’s pre-cap, pre-revenue split economic model.

$9M a year long-term deal for a 30 year-old who was never anything more than a good second line center even in his prime.

Oh yeah that was shocking. I can't believe nearly 2 decades later the NHl's best player only makes 12.5 per.

The funny thing is so many still think you need to build you a Bobby Holik type.

Question regarding this cap

So it will be flat for 2 years at 81 til we get to a pre determined revenue figure

Let say revenues completely fall off the cliff in the next 2 years

In a normal HRR year lets say the cap should of been 65 based on this revenue free fall

Is there a provision in place where when the league gets healthy again , the lost HRR gets readjusted for future caps ?

and Max out for at least the first 7-10 days of camp, while they figure out what to do with him

the tank is on!
