His EV offensive production was on par with Willy's and better than Mitch's.

They only got him this cheap because he's been on a good team that doesn't give him 1st unit PP ice. 26 EV goals last year, 51 EV points. When he replaces Trochek on that PP unit, he's probably 75-80+ points a year.

imo, good deal for NYR.

yeah, kinda shocking actually that people would argue otherwise. Of course anything can happen, but when I saw the numbers I thought this was a really good deal for the Rangers. And it's not bad for the player either, seems like a win-win to me.

You got them locked up for their entire prime career

Contracts are easily moveable and NTC clause doesnt kick until 26

Teams rarely get burnt doing this and the player at 29 still has money to make if productive
