Marner taking a giant shit every year in the playoffs isn't a function of bad luck. It's a character flaw. If the Leafs resign him it either means they don't care about winning Cups or they think that the player will suddenly become some other, better player in the playoffs despite all evidence to the contrary

It's definitely one of these things but it is not neither of them.

The Leafs are more than good enough that they don't need Marner to make the playoffs and he has proven every year that he doesn't have what it takes to get them anywhere after game #82. So why keep wasting cap space on him? If his little temper tantrum on the bench in last year's playoffs doesn't prove to you what a fragile little pussy he is then I dont know what will.

You don’t blame a team issue on one guy, especially when he’s arguably your best player. By your logic, we should get rid of the whole core four and try things without them and expect to be just as likely to win.
