They seem to have benefited quite a bit from OT /SO. But it isn't like the Canucks are good.

Flames need to finish 11th last and not one spot lower (Habs then get that first rounder)
 
I believe Dom does adjust for nerdies qoc, because yeah it sure seems like it matters.

There's 3 extremely poor nerdy teams (i.e. under 45%) and they're all in the west. All in the pacific actually - SEA, ANA, SJS. If you add in the only 2 others that are below 47% you get DET and CHI, so 4 in the west and 1 in the east.

Despite this, the two top nerdies teams are in the East (NJ and CAR), and only 1 western team is above 55% (LA).

QoC is interesting on every level really.

Leafs and Oilers are neck and neck in the standings but look how differently they've built their records:



Vs Top-5: TOR 8gms, 92pt pace --- EDM 7gms, 59pt pace
Vs Top-10: TOR 13gms, 107pt pace --- EDM 11gms, 52pt pace
Vs Top-16: TOR 16gms, 108pt pace --- EDM 19gms, 86pt pace

Vs Bot-16: TOR 26gms, 110pt pace --- EDM 21gms, 133pt pace
