Not so sure about that.

Evans and Armia are playing above average
Heineman has been a pleasant surprise
Demidov next year will be a boost but I would still be a seller at deadline.

Gotta move at least Savard and Dvorak.

A lot of this run is the new kid Dobes but we've seen this before with rookie goalies, there's no book on him yet. He seems technically sound but only time will tell.

I do think we can kiss a top five pick this summer goodbye though.
 
Almost squandered the game late when Washington cranked it up.

Will be battling in the mushy middle, it seems. A significant improvement over last year, frankly.

I've given up on a top 5 pick now. So at least make the playoffs. No 9th place shit.
 
In fairness Columbus nerdies are even worse than the Leafs and their shooting 10% 5v5 so they ares 2nd in g/60.

Also Minnesota is one of the best teams in the league without him.
 
I think the East finally moved (slightly) ahead of the West in PTS% for the first time this year.

Wildly different conferences - West is divvied up pretty clearly between haves and have nots, while the East is a complete mess of a smorgasbord.


The West playoff picture is pretty much set, with only a battle between VAN and CGY for the last spot seeming to be in question. Though I guess COL might be dragged back down into that fight for the last 2 spots there too.

In the East though there's a full 9 teams in competition for the last 2 playoffs spots, after the 6 teams who seem almost sure of a playoffs spot.

The gap between 9th (VAN) and 10th (UTA) in the West is the same .059pts% as the gap between 6th (OTT) and 15th (PHI) in the East.

The Bjs goaltending is horrific though. They are 31st in Goals saved above expected.
