Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

I think its probably ok. don't love starting a longterm deal at 34 though.

Well if they start 2021-22 on time (Oct) he'll still be 33 for a couple of months. Listen, I agree signing older players is risky but having watched how he plays and understanding he is rarely hurt, I feel good about this. Moreso, I just don't see anyone of his caliber signing in Montreal.

AP will be older when his purported deal is over.

I could not resist.

AP's deal ends at 36. Petry's at 37.

So Petry's deal misses the first four good years of pietro's deal, includes the last 3 worst years, and then adds an extra worst year after that.

Oh yeah, the D will be getting old. I can't find any mention of a NMC with this deal. I'm wondering if they didn't give him one which means they could move him later if they want.

@EricEngels
Jeff Petry's new deal has trade protection. A no-movement clause with a 15-team trade list to be submitted.

Poor guy. He’s so mad at me for actually wanting the Habs to be better, instead of just perpetual crap.

Not too long ago, if the Leafs didn’t win, I’d prefer that the Habs do well. Then, oddly enough, I became friends with a few totally obnoxious Montrealers in LA, and they’re just too much to handle. So now I’m not really caring if they do well or not.

But I’d rather they be good and hate them and meet them in the playoffs, rather than the current situation which is ambivalence and just shaking my head over what’s going on over there.

Better than a full NMC. At least there are 17 teams they can move him to if they so choose later.

That's not it at all.

I prefer to discuss matters in reality and factor in outside influences. The amount of lazy fucks that just regurgitate "proper rebuild" is ridiculous. If they knew anything at all they would know Molson won't do it so they are either ignorant or trolling. BTW, you're the totally obnoxious Torontonian.

he should be on SN during the intermissions. for Habs takes only though.

You don’t want me on for Leafs takes because I will give no spoiler alerts and will totally ruin things by giving away how each move is actually going to turn out. That’d be no fun for people who want to watch it all unfold over time.
