Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

Interesting watch if you've ever wondered about Steve Dangle. I know I thought his original youtube stuff was pretty funny, and thought it was pretty cool that a kid filming videos in the bedroom at his parents house could gain a viewership.

Didn't realize that he was a broadcast major, and as it turns out, his youtube stuff was basically his "placement". His resume is insane, including CBC, Sportsnet, and several radio stations and leagues as a writer and video editor. Some pretty fun stories, including some stuff about his time streaming on Sportsnet, and how/why he left.

As for the Bruins though, until that corpse has been staked through the heart and burned to ashes, I’m still expecting it to reanimate at some point and somehow get home ice against us in the first round.

They are done. Thankfully

Starting to wonder if the hockey world collectively gave Yzerman too much credit as a genius manager.

Feels like it’s been at least several years he’s been in Detroit now, and they’re still a dogshit team.

Maybe he’s as much of a fraud as Shanny?
A big issue is they've had really bad lottery luck. And he isn't doing anything positive to overcome that.

Chicago got lucky with Bedard obviously but did it right by bringing in veteran tank commanders that if they bounce back have trade value like foligno, perry...lol, Brodie, etc. Detroit threw bags at better players but worse assets like Compher and Copp. Guys who are just good enough to make sure you're not terrible but not good enough to win with unless your kids become studs.

You can't rush a tank. The only way out of a tank properly is if your kids lead you out of it.

I do agree there's been a lot of big $ given to UFAs that are shit, but will still make you a tad better.

Foligno, Hall, Martinez, Brodie, Murphy, Donato are all short term assets that wont kill them that should/could bring back something if they so choose.

Tuevo and Bert are the only long term things, and both look like decent middle 6 options for when the team is good
