Around the League 2019-2025 Edition

Pretty crazy that the two Pennsylvania teams both got out to a 3-0 lead and both gave up 4 straight goals in successive nights.

Though only one of them lost…

I feel like the new guys (21 and under) have an unprecedented level of possession skills. is it a coaching bump?

First generation of kids who have spent their entire elite minor hockey career getting coached to the way the game is played now, yeah. I see a handful of AAA practices a month and the level of skills training they do is wild now. I played GTHL growing up in the 90's and I remember entire practices where we didn't touch pucks because the pre national hockey summit dinosaurs were still firmly in charge and we played gritty grindy hockey and you only needed good puck skills if you were too small to play real hockey. I saw a bunch of 12 yr olds doing puck shielding drills the other night and at a pretty high level. The entire hour was drills that were pure skill and puck possession focused.
