Or might not even be anyone who actually has firsthand experience with Babcock. Could be someone who’s heard stories from other players who did and wants no part of that.

If I were him, I would be infuriated now. Whoever gave him the idiot advice to sign that extension is probably paying for it right now on a daily basis. Could’ve been the premier ufa of all time in a few weeks, in a year the cap bumped by $10m, and his hometown team with boatloads of it to devote to him. Imagine the lineup with McKenna too. What a missed opportunity.
 
Watch now, there is going to be some very interesting clauses added to future contracts to discourage this kind of thing.

Is it any coincidence that the trade requests have both come from Americans who participated in the Olympics?
