That’s why Hughes was a highly successful agent…Little anecdote for you, Hughes said Dubas had the hardest job in the league and it isn't even close. He responded to this when asked how he's dealing with the hardest job in the league.
What was it Brian Burke said about the Habs GM job? Mtl & Toronto are the toughest markets in NHL, only difference being you get called an assh*le in 2-languages in Mtl?Or Dubas has the hardest job in the league.
At least Toronto can hire any coach they want.
Dubas has one of the easiest jobs in the league. He manages a team that sells out every game at the highest ticket prices in all Christendom despite not having won a championship since before he was born. He also has a slavishly devoted media contingent that doesn't so much report on the team as it fellates it. Look at the playoff results Dubas has had and ask yourself if he would still have a job if he was in any other market. It's a joke how easy his job actually is. It only appears difficult. Running the Habs actually comes with danger attached. That fanbase has proven it is capable of physical violence. Leafs fans never get that angry. Maybe if they did their Cup drought wouldn't be as ridiculous as it is.Or Dubas has the hardest job in the league.
Burke struggled in Vancouver so he would think just about any market is hard. What was it Brian Burke said about the Habs GM job? Mtl & Toronto are the toughest markets in NHL, only difference being you get called an assh*le in 2-languages in Mtl?

Said idiots have much more power in Montreal than in Toronto, where they are considered outliers.Habs and Leafs have idiots in the media who are not content unless they throw jobs or ask stupid questions
Many candidates wont take the Leaf job
Many? Who turned them down?
You are truly a biased idiot where the Leafs are concerned. Stop the drivel man. Look at them like a normal rival than visceral hatred.Dubas has one of the easiest jobs in the league. Yup and he fucked it up on July 2, 2018Dubas inherited an amazing core. All he had to worry about is bolstering the bottom lines and find a goalkeeper.
He also benefits from an unlimited budget to hire the best coaches, scouts, advisors, analytics, psychologists, medics, and everything else that can give his team an edge on the margins.
Sure, answering a bunch of questions from a packed house of cynical journalists is annoying, but it doesn't really consume more than 10 hrs out of his year.
I think Dubas has done a pretty decent job also, considering he had to work around two major Lou fuckups (Zaitsev & Marleau) that really threw a wrench into the cogs.
Overloading on offense while ignoring defense/goalies, however, will ultimately be his downfall.
PS: I still maintain the Leafs' window is closing very rapidly and this season has done nothing to change my view on that.
