As mentioned at the moment KK signed that contract, it told me a lot about what he thought of himself. He signed for financial security instead of betting on himself that he'd turn out better than a middling contract. Good for him, I guess.

Carolina has 3 more seasons after this one to buy him out at a very feasible number. Because it's a buyout for a player who isn't 25, the buyout isn't 2/3 of the contract, but actually 1/3 of the contract. So Carolina would be stuck with a sub $1M cap hit for the next decade or so, depending on when they choose to buy him out.

It's unreal that you refuse to dig into this topic and instead try to discredit this information based on false beliefs. Having empathy for someone despite the effect of their trauma isn't wrong, it's important to understand to prevent this from continuing. We see the effects everywhere. The prison system is full of people with very little chance of healing. The streets are full of addicts who have very little chance of healing. People are getting killed by guns everyday.

Maybe have a look into why you have displaced angry here towards someone who has an argument that opposes your beliefs. There's something there no doubt. Maybe you can't appear wrong, I don't know. Like I said, we're all affected whether you're blind to it or not. Personal success doesn't mean you're trauma free.

Anyways I'm done this argument with you. You clearly lack knowledge on the subject, can't make a proper argument to back up your claims, and are beginning to manifesting anger into personal attacks. There's no point in continuing this with you as you clearly aren't healthy enough to look deeper into this subject.

I never wanted this topic because this is what always happens. The discussion was about him being black balled. It is his fault and you wish to find his excuses.

I backed up MY CLAIMS. Not the ones you think I need to make. You took this so far down the field that ya, you're talking about something else and then get indignant.

The argument was that Miller brought the NHL wrath on himself not that he was completely responsible for his own mental condition. That seemed to morph into its his fault he's nuts.

Two separate arguments.

And if the NHL was as bulletproof in the US as the NFL then they wouldn't give a shit either but that's not their reality. The more tenuous your TV revenue the more you have to pay lip service to stuff you don't really care about. The NFL "cares" only as much as it needs to in order to keep the money flowing in. And through the years football junkies have demonstrated that they do not care about anything more than they care about having a game to wager on next Sunday. The NFL could run a concentration camp in which prisoners wore branded team apparel and they wouldn't sell one fewer ticket or lose one set of eyeballs in front of a TV.

The NHL only wishes it didn't have to pretend to care about any of this. Neely and Sweeney forgot that they work for the Boston Bruins, not the New England Patriots.
