Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

Marner's probably a cancer, Nylander's softer than room temp butter and Tavares is aging.

I don't follow the Leafs and I have no idea whether or not Marner's a cancer or not, but I'll take your word for it. What I'll remember the most from Marner is watching him nearly in tears in the penalty box after taking possibly the absolute worst penalty in the playoffs I've ever seen.

Whoa, didn't realize Mat Barzal had no goals so far this season.

Scored his first two tonight in their 19th game... had 18 assists in 18 games though.

They were talking about that last night on HNIC... because he was healthy scratched five games in a row, he can go to the AHL for two weeks on a conditioning loan... the Kraken then have one game before Wright would get sent to World Junior camp... and guess who it's against? The Habs.

I can almost assure you that he'll start the game at C for the Kraken, first shift.

I keep hearing about Nylander's softness (probably because he's the only core player who isn't a "good ol' Canadian/American boy") and yet in the playoffs he's the only one of them who actually elevates his game even a bit. The other three just pout.

One of Marner/Nylander/Tavares* has to go. I'd try to move Tavares as fast as humanly possible, assuming he waives his NTC, but shrug.

*If Auston Matthews doesn't want to re-sign this summer, Toronto has to trade him or they might as well just fold the franchise.
JT isnt going anywhere

Problem is they have no depth

Desperate for D help but will create a hole upfront

Your buddy Biebs tell you that?
34 is a coach killer. Trotz isn't the type of coach who gets "killed". Ergo, if they're thrown together something has got to give. Either Matthews knuckles under or demands a trade. They won't be able to fire Trotz so soon after hiring him. And I doubt Trotz will take the job unless there's an understanding in place as to whether he or Matthews is in charge.

Trotz is paid for another , relax and wait until next season when jobs come up

I am not sure if a coach`s contact allows to double dip with new team while still being paid

Can we be honest? Carolina's actually been very, very well run for the last few years and they've constructed a superb team...

...with the exception of the KK deal.

Right from the get-go, this looked & smelled like Carolina's owner trying to get back at us for the Aho offer sheet and then trying to justify it even further by re-signing KK.

So yeah, no wonder they'd be trying to get rid of him. He was acquired & re-signed for non-hockey reasons.
yep

They sure showed us.
