Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

I don't see UFA signings with Harris and Caufield needing new deals and prospects knocking on the door. I just don't. Not this summer anyway.

Michael Pezzetta

The latter two should be gone. I can see them giving Richard a QO but Pez? He needs gone.

Basically, I'm not seeing this plethora of cap space without more creativity. You will also need to factor in $4.5m in potential bonuses on the books for 23-24.

I've been a very loud proponent of that for years. If a bad team has capspace, call teams like Ottawa for Zaitsev, or San Jose for Vlasic, or Vancouver for Myers, etc. and see if you can get some picks & prospects out of them.

What Arizona's done is great, as long as they're able to get some hits and build a real prospect pipeline. If they blow all of their drat picks and they amount to nothing, then it's rinse & repeat.

They are going nowhere until their best players rise and produce like stars collectively when it matters

Some teams get to the playoffs , others get you through and there are no more excuses barring major injuries

Leafs had 2 years of gifts handed to them and failed

Sal actually has quite expensive tastes. We've discussed such with Rolex in a thread long ago. That's what makes the Rose thing hilarious for me.
 
Caufield is tied for 9th in goals in the NHL. Every player above him and tied with him, and tons below him, play on their team’s top line. I like Geeman but he’s a dolt sometimes. Like here. We know the Habs suck. Devaluing Caufield doesn’t help his argument. He’s already right that we suck.

I think he ends up on the second line with Suzuki in 2-3 years. Right now? He's top line no doubt.
