Trust me, I'd relocate a bunch of southern teams to places like Quebec, Hartford, Milwaukee, but the truth is, those places are in tough.

That’s what I’m saying. No more expansions, move teams as needed. The NFL hasn’t expanded since 2002. NBA since 2004. MLB since 1998. We can take a break for 10-20 years.

yeah...I was gonna say, the NHL (the bottom rung of big four NA pro leagues) would have to have some delusional brass balls to keep expanding beyond 32 teams when <checks notes>

the NFL (the biggest revenue generating league in the world) has 32 teams
NBA and MLB both have 30 teams each

A sport that's played by small groups of people unfortunately residing next to frozen ponds might want to relax on expansion

If they were to expand, adding another team in the Toronto area would be smart (I mean if NYC area has 3 teams, 2 in TO is a no brainer)

32 is also a perfect number. 4 divisions, 8 teams each, half the league makes the playoffs.
