Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

It's nice to see Phil get the attention he deserves. Was underrated for so long. He is indeed a defensively elite offensively second line center and the Habs kept using him too defensively.
Can't lie I was a bit surprised by his offensive output with the Kings. I thought he had more in him, but not that much more.

When a guy arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder is chiming in on lack of character on the Leafs team, u just know sh*ts about to get really entertaining.

Nothing like Xmas in April courtesy of Leafs nation

His usage. Overused defensively on the Habs
Maybe more underused offensively. We took away his PP time during his last season as Suzuki emerged and as Tatar and Gally play started dropping, so did his numbers. The main difference in LA is that he is also trusted in offensive situations.

He has better talent to work with in LA

He had stone hands in Montreal and finally producing adequate second line numbers especially in the playoffs

2 goals in his last 32 playoff games in Montreal isnt good enough for the big minutes he got

Win win for both teams

Fuck that. It's opportunity. Habs had some good teams during his time here.

Even strength production is about the same, and overall is about the same as when his line with Gally and Tatar were one of the best in the league. The main difference was his usage on the PP last season in Montreal.
Playoff production in Montreal wasn’t that great but he was cast in a very specific role and was saddled with 2 other notorious playoff under performers.

Of all the people we could have signed, from Gallagher, Petry, Armia, etc. he was the only one that I would have signed, because while he had one season in LA where his offense spiked, he reverted to about what his stats in Montreal were in his final two seasons and even if it started to go down, you aren't signing Danault for offense. You're signing him because he'll shut down the opposing team's best player.

My opinion of Danault hasn't changed at all since he left. He's a third line center on a championship caliber team, and probably the best third line center in the league.

Look at the top teams in the league, is he a #1 or #2 on Bawstun, Tampa Bay, Toronto, Carolina, Deadmonton? He'd be a #2 on Colorado, Minny (maybe even #1), Dallas, New York, etc.

2 years ago he scored 27 goals and only 2 PPG and 4 points total , much better than Montreal

Playoff production was non existent for your top C playing 21 minutes a night , but his D was excellent

It was simply time to walk away

I would of signed him if he was 23 not 29

Great third line C on a cup team , thats not the Habs

he was pushed out by Nero not due to any analysis, but because he was pissed off at him

I do think we likely would have signed him had we known Mole would go Judas on us

Leafs nation is back on the bandwagon tonight. Tampa is playing with house money anyway. They have the split they came for. Everything depends on whether Hedman comes back.

Speaking of frauds, the New Joizy Devils might be the second biggest frauds in hockey behind The Choking Dog. A sizeable gap between the two, still.

They're about to go down 0-2 to New York.
