He’s unsigned so when does this 41 game suspension even start?
according to RDS, apparently the rules are even his direct family cannot bet on games either so it might be he got nailed if his dad bet on the NHL.Well that seems dumb . . . withe the qualification that I don't know what he really did.
Unconstitutionalaccording to RDS, apparently the rules are even his direct family cannot bet on games either so it might be he got nailed if his dad bet on the NHL.
Yup , plus he went homeThere must be something else?
No one is fighting this.
We both know that the NHL is not going to disassociate itself from gambling websites.Again, the NHL and all sports leagues should just not have anything to do with the gambling industry, full stop. That way there are no ethical conflicts or strawman "what about...?" arguments to parry. And the punishment needs to be permanent banishment from the sport, not merely a suspension. Gambling is the third rail of sports that you cannot touch even once, even a little bit. The people who pay to watch your product need to know that what they're watching is real and not staged like pro rasslin'. Having a formal relationship exist between a sports league and the gambling industry is an ethical conflict of interests and tears down the wall that should exist between these two entities. Gambling (and the use of PED's, while we're at it) do nothing but create a needless risk of a sport being led into disrepute. Consequently the punishment for violating the rules that govern them should be extreme and absolute. If you gamble or take PED's you are done. Pack your shit and go.
Of course not. The NHL grubs for every nickel it can get. If crack manufacturers were able to advertise on TV there'd be ads with Connor Bedard smoking a glass pipe in his Blackhawks jersey. Bettman and the owners are morally and ethically bankrupt. We both know that the NHL is not going to disassociate itself from gambling websites.
Yup , plus he went home
Proxy gambling is a no no in the NHL
Exactly , very easy for Pinto to make a call to his peeps and say 3 key players may not play tomorrow night bet the under other the other teamAh, I see now.
Gambling houses can’t have league partners that are leaky ships. Indirectly this could hit league revenues, and thus player salaries.
So the NHL sent a message to the gambling houses with the severity of the suspension: “We got this. Keep the money faucet running.”
Wehave is very manicheanWe both know that the NHL is not going to disassociate itself from gambling websites.
In someways it's better to be dumb than have demonstrated intent to bet directly on NHL games or provide insider information. That's a deserved 41 games for being a god damn idiot. Why on hell would you let someone else use your gambling account?? The only reason would be if that other person is not legally allowed, which makes is even dumber.
