Alex Newhook says hello. As I explained in the other thread, trading for him was completely meaningless when you examine the timeline of everything that needs to happen for a rebuild.

Re-signing Montembeault says hello. If they're going to re-sign Monahan, that will say hello.

Also, it's not necessarily just the actions they've taken, but their inaction. The teardown required hasn't been done. Mix that with their disinterest in wanting to tank?

Not a big fan of the Newhook move but it’s not as if Hugo traded for a 28 year old past his prime vet

I would of traded the picks for Musty but if Newhook can be a 25/50 point player , it’s ok

Monty is a good signing , you gotta keep something and Hugo has turned over 3/4 of this roster already

His salary/term is fine and you need some stability

Remember this was a total tear down and none of these albatross deals are on his watch.

Toronto had no choice. Samsonov can't try to find his game again in the NHL. Has to do it in the AHL. I doubt he's claimed. Would Carolina take the risk? Don't think so.

So how will playing against inferior shooters help any goalie find their game? The Oilers tried this with Jack Campbell and he sucks just as bad at the AHL level.

Sometimes you need to regroup and away from the NHL

I don’t know, most field goal kickers today in the NFL seem to be automatic from inside 60 yards. . . I guess until they’re not.

Only difference , you can punt a FG kicker off your roster on Sunday night over a few missed opportunities and move on from a contract
