The way Ovechkin is "playing" these days, his breaking of the record will be as bogus as Barry Bonds. He isn't even playing hockey anymore. He just floats around the opposition blue line looking for cookies. The classic definition of a "goal suck". He should retire because he isn't credible anymore. He's just a golfer who never plays a round but can hit 380 yard drives at the range. Ovie is hockey's answer to the designated hitter. He's a complete fraud, just like the Red Army for which he simps.

an irrelevant point, he scored all of 14 goals his last full season, but did that have amazing 3rd period in game 6 vs the hated Nodicks. 8 has always just stood there for one-timers, he makes Stamkos look like he isn't a perimeter guy.
 
I'm sure it's just a coincidence, the same way it's a coincidence most NFL players leave the game with a shitton of head trauma and are permanently scarred. I'm sure.
 
Simon was fierce, truly fierce. He could play hockey as well. Both him and Probert had that combination of qualities and were big contributors to their teams especially early in their careers, when in their prime. Both gone very young.
