Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

Simon was fierce, truly fierce. He could play hockey as well. Both him and Probert had that combination of qualities and were big contributors to their teams especially early in their careers, when in their prime. Both gone very young.
Simon was a true heavyweight with some skill as well. Sorry to read about this.

After a pretty shitty start to the year, Ovechkin's on pace to get to 30 goals again. Only season he didn't get to 30 goals was the pandemic-condensed season in 2020-2021.

Vancouver's best player is a skinny, pantywaist Swede who likes to dangle. Works great in the regular season against mediocre opponents. But when he tries it in the playoffs someone will rip his head off and MAYBE get a 2 minute minor.
I think the overall defense play of the Canucks is their strength. Remarkable how they became one of the top defense teams in the league from one of the worst.

after 43 they are mostly plugs like Zadorov Myers and Juulsen but they played decently last night except against our only NHL line

The later in the season the tighter the games. Just do a little legwork on who's fighting for what.

What a collapse by Pittsburgh. But you could see it coming. They were lucky to be up 4-0, despite Crosby’s heroics, and it was clear MacKinnon was going in eye of the tiger mode.
