Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

It's clear that players want a shot at winning. If they sign in Edmonton? They sign in Montreal. Build a contender.
 
Also I don’t know what hockey player who wouldn’t want to contend in a hockey town like Montreal/Toronto/Edmonton etc. if those teams have a legit shot at winning I don’t understand why any serious player wouldn’t want to try and win in a market like that.
 
Give up our conditional first next year, a third (we already have 10 picks in the first 4 rounds) and Harris, Barron or Mailloux but remove the third if it's Mailloux.

Mailloux isn't a slouch prospect. That's as high as I would go prospect wise. I really like the player, McGroarty brings an element to his game that would be great for the current roster sure but he wants out, not going to give up a top 5 pick D (and by many accounts other teams would have taken him at five too) for a disgruntled 14 OA guy that's D+2.

They don't need to be in a huge rush to trade him. They have at least another year to find the best possible deal.

Looks good on Winnipeg to do so too

He'll get offer sheeted next year if they aren't smart about this
