Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

He's close. Likely ready. It's the type of player he is that concerns me longterm. Like Gallagher they wear down quicker. Type of player you trade in their late 20s.
11 is more work ethic than skill , McGroaty is way more skilled

Matheson and Gallagher for McGroarty and a one year salary dump coming back? Ehlers, Iafallo, Pionk? Two players that we can bury in Laval like Appleton and Namestnikov?

Its doable if Chevy gets creative.
Bent nose has to get creative for the right deal or take 75 cents on the dollar

He could literally dump the dead wood with 1-2 years remaining. He's old school though so I don't think he can go too far outside the typical box.

Lots of that old school hockey stuff..

Apparently at pre draft meeting w Minny then GM Bobby Clarke ripped into Lindros telling him “NHL players report to teams that draft them, so STFU go quietly to Quebec, and stop making waves or you won’t have an NHL career”

Fast fwd a few years and Clarke is Philly GM, and never relented on Lindros because of that grudge calling his concussions “fake”

"And then our coach went goofy on us..."

- Clarke, speaking about Roger Nielson's terminal cancer.

Old school hockey guys have great hockey stories.

But that's about where I draw the line on the content they have that's worth listening.

Unfortunately, those same old school hockey guys have such a grip on the league and how it's run.

It’s more the owners - like the story majority of owners hold Babcock in high regard and orgs still consult with him as does the league
