too many NHL players have no balls when it comes to contracts/free agencyHe just want free agency, that’s understandable

Necas likely also has a destination(s) in mind…He just want free agency, that’s understandable
He wouldn’t turn down a 7x7 if it was a no tax market I’m sure …. which disqualifies Buf, Winter-peg & CBJ…What the heck is he fighting for an extra mil if the moon lines up
This isnt Matthews who bagged his money and made 25 mil in endorsements
He is a decent second liner no more , turning down probably 7x7 right now thats stupid dumb
Klingberg, Hall, Mark Tinordi , and I am sure plenty others turned down term and got burnt
Bergeron and others got thier 8 year deal
Las Vegas?Necas likely also has a destination(s) in mind…
Vegas will be in reboot mode in 2 years , doubt Necas is ther targetLas Vegas?
He may have to settle for what he can in 2 years if his stupid experiment failsHe wouldn’t turn down a 7x7 if it was a no tax market I’m sure …. which disqualifies Buf, Winter-peg & CBJ…
Sure there’s some risk but as GGPx said we’re not talking MMA level risk factors for injuries, and he’s betting on himself as he approaches his prime… that last part won’t be lost on teams looking to sign him as UFA or trade for him prior to…He may have to settle for what he can in 2 years if his stupid experiment fails
That's good news for every Canadian team because they wouldn't have any good players otherwise.too many NHL players have no balls when it comes to contracts/free agency
Klingberg lost out on his retirement deal because his agent was an imbecile who he overplayed his hand. He was then fired shortly afterwards. Unfortunately for him, though, he had a bad year + a series of injuries that derailed his career afterwards. If you want to use him as an example, despite being a bad example, fine. What the heck is he fighting for an extra mil if the moon lines up

MMA doesn't have too many injury risks, relatively. But it's also a sport where the fighters compete (at the high levels, anyway) 3 or 4 times at the very most in a year. Since the UFC is a monopsony and the fighters might as well be MAGA flag bearers who think unions are evil, the UFC has such a firm grasp on them and the money they make, virtually none of the fighters in the UFC truly get their fair share.Sure there’s some risk but as GGPx said we’re not talking MMA level risk factors for injuries, and he’s betting on himself as he approaches his prime… that last part won’t be lost on teams looking to sign him as UFA or trade for him prior to…
Also did Canes actually offer Necas 7x7, and was it bonus structured as I’m sure he’s seeking, cause Dundon doesn’t do bonu$ contracts?
He wants to choose where he plays and he doesn’t want it to be Carolina. He didn’t have a no trade clause either. Why risk an injury or poor play and lose millions
Foolish move IMO

Taylor Hall? The same Taylor Hall who will have made $85M in career earnings when his contract ends this year? The same Taylor Hall who only played in a single full 82 game season in his career? And who is probably going to get another multi-year contract within the next 12 months and reach $100M in career earnings? This is your example of "take the money, injuries will mess with you!"?
Mark Tinordi, don't know what the financials were back then. Can't say whether you're right or wrong.
Your thesis doesn't hold up to the slightest bit of scrutiny.
Even in prospects, how many hockey prospects lose out on their careers due to getting injured too often? Joey Hishon, Nolan Patrick, who else? Maybe some prospects saw injuries cut their potential NHL earnings, but can still play pro in North America or Europe.
But the fact is, despite a long history of injuries, those players almost always get paid.

Not necessarily when dealing picks..Dumb chart because it doesn’t take into account that trading for stars involves assets you had to draft.
