Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

Not if you think highly of yourself. If you think highly of yourself and think that you're great, you wait it out. This isn't the NFL where one or two injuries can derail your career & financial aspirations.
KK was never great so good on him

Suzuki played it well as well , take the 64 mil and move on

What are you risking an extra mil a year down the road , get paid son .

Plus he is good to cash in at 30 as well if he is still good

There's a massive difference in what Suzuki did & what KK did for their contracts.

Suzuki got a high-end contract that is the largest contract ever given to a forward in the history of his franchise, KK took a middling, let-me-play-it-safe contract.

KK could have easily held out, get his $6M+ QO if he truly believed in himself. He didn't and chose financial security, and like I said, good for him. But it tells me exactly what he thinks of himself.

Nick could of signed a bridge deal and bet on himself and maybe nabbing 8-9 mil in 3 years

Fuck it take the guarantee

As for KK , he would of been a fool not taking this deal

Fuck the Canes as well

yep, no player takes 4 million for 8 years if thinks he could get more down the road

he still gets close to 8 now, so not like he is being underpaid ;)

Tkachuk was as sure a pick as I've ever seen in my life, but the general consensus was that he would settle as a 60ish points plug-and-play forward, which has been about accurate until this season.
We all knew it would be Bergevin to reach for KK. It should have been either Hughes or Tkachuk

Tkachuk started out gang busters after agreeing to his deal last season too, then tailed off after some 25GP
