Thing is, the PP does put up excellent numbers overall, thats the talent shining through imo. The weakness comes when teams have time to get familiar with the structure and make adjustments.

But is that structure or the predictability in their players? Marner and Mo are not threats to shoot like Hedman and Kucherov. And the latter two can make a nice pass as well. Study the tape and the pp goes to shit every year. Not all elite players are necessarily the best of the best or unpredictable on the pp.

Slow, physical teams aren't "hard to play against". Fast teams that seem to constantly get their stick in to rush or deflect passes, and then get beat you down the ice on turnovers are hard to play against.
