Two league juggernauts clash tonight. Both are on winning streaks, 2 games and 3 games respectively. Only one can stand!!
 
Leafs need to go 2-7 the rest of the way worst case scenario-ish. Blues need to stick it to Berube tonight.
 
In all seriousness, I cannot fathom how these players, who have done nothing else but play hockey their entire lives can be so utterly slow and useless. I wouldn't keep any of them.

I guess there is a world in which a reg loss gives them a chance but there's a whole bunch of teams in the mix. Florida, St. Louis, Winnipeg, San Jose. The best of those teams is on pace for 82 points rn but I bet it takes somewhere closer to 78 or 79 in the end. One of them is bound to go on a shit the bed heater.

Meaning the leafs would then need 3-4 points in their final 8 games to have a chance after tonight even if they manage to lose. But they'd at least be right there in the hunt with close to a 1 in 5 chance.

And this is to have a chance to have a 42% chance of getting a top 5 pick. I'm no mathematician but I don't love these odds.

Yeah they've been impressively shit tonight. And the blues are an unstoppable juggernaut. I mean their odds do improve if this is how they'll look the rest of the year!
 
If the jets and blues hold on it's a 4 way tie for 5th last between the jets blues leafs and panthers.

Let's hope management made the call and they choose to lose the rest of the games. Still wouldn't be good enough for 4th last unfortunately but it's something.
