we tried to warn you!Bottom 6 since the TB game (i.e. last 3gms):
5v5
Robertson 3gms, 10:58 (-8.3dzs%), 56.1xgf%, 1.83p/60
McMann 3gms, 10:56 (+2.6dzs%), 19.8xgf%, 0.00p/60
Kampf 2gms, 10:20 (+3.6dzs%), 83.0xgf%, 0.00p/60
Holmberg 2gms, 10:01 (+14.3dzs%), 41.9xgf%, 0.00p/60
Lorentz 3gms, 9:47 (+11.1dzs%), 45.3xgf%, 0.00p/60
Pacioretty 2gms, 9:10 (-11.5dzs%), 39.3xgf%, 0.00p/60
Reaves 3gms, 8:23 (+10.3dzs%), 40.2xgf%, 0.00p/60
It's bad enough that Reaves is again a permanent starter, but even worse that it makes us forget that it's already bad that Lorentz is a permanent starter.
Berube is deploying like babs and early queef on the dzone faceoffs
Also, Robbie needs to show more but keeping in Mcmann is nuts with the way he’s been playing.
Ya I mean it’s not JT from 5 years ago but he’s still playing with a 1b/2a centre.Robbie needs to show more, but sometimes the more comes from being put in an opportunity that aligns with his skill set. Putting him with guys who don't produce offence at 5v5 isn't going to get the best out of him.
His nerdies have been good (6th highest xG among forwards, when only 7 of our forwards have been above 50% so far), he's not going to put up 6.7% shooting and a hilariously unlucky 7.1% OISH forever.

Or maybe Shanahan keeps hiring morons who like that approach. Its pretty clear to me that the love for 4th line and or bottom 6 pluggery is a Shanahan thing, not a GM or coach thing. There has been change over in both spots, and the Reaves/Lorentz stuff over a Robertson still is a thing
Wouldnt he in theory, be a fan of said approach? I mean, its unlikely this approach caught him off guard multiple times.Or maybe Shanahan keeps hiring morons who like that approach.
neither looks good on Shanny thoughOr maybe Shanahan keeps hiring morons who like that approach.
Whole team is out of sorts, and he's just one.Robbie has been poop after that preseason. Mario Marois, Don Maclean type preseason->season.
5v5:
TOI: 116.15 (7th)
xG/60: 0.61 (8th)
xGF/60: 47.34 (9th)
He has less ixG/60 than Kampf and Lorentz.
I don't disagree. I'm just not sure he's micro focused on the fourth line stuff. You'd think it would be an afterthought and way down the list of things that you'd normally be vetting when hiring a coach, but it's a recurring problem.Wouldnt he in theory, be a fan of said approach? Bottom line, at some point, he's repsonsble for this stuff.
He also played in an era where goons and plugs were revered. He didnt need to be one to think thats what wins games.I don't disagree. I'm just not sure he's micro focused on the fourth line stuff. Shanny was a tough, offensive, top tier player. I don't know what he would have in common with bums like Keefe and Berube who he surely laughed at during his playing days. It's hard to imagine him thinking like these guys. The whole situation makes no sense to me.
