Hard to tell. We are getting elite goaltending that allows him to play this style where we are not generating as much - especially when we have a lead going into the third.

But if our goaltending falls back to the norm - I’m guessing we will look more like we did with Sheldon as a coach.

Our top 5 forwards = 32 goals.

All other forwards = 9 goals.

D0mi = 0 goals. Last 9 games, 0 points.

We need much, much more from the depth.

Domi has looked really bad of late. Does not deserve top line status and Nylander sucked last night as well.

Seems to be that the team, as a whole, slacks off when Matty is on the ice in the hopes that Matty will save the day...again.

5 v5 offense is becoming a bit of a problem. If guys like Robertson, McMann and Domi aren’t scoring than the depth scoring potential completely evaporates. But it also goes beyond individual performance as the team is now outside the top 10 in xgf/60.

But they have been unreal defensively. They are now 7th in xGA/60, and 0.01 out of top 5.

And combine that with top 3 goaltending and that’s a very different Leafs team than we are used to.

They need to figure out how to create 5v5 and PP offense at the same time though. But that is now the missing piece, and it’s something they should be good at.
