Asshole Stevie Y fired his handpicked coach on christmas.

Just to replace him with the retread of all retreads, the always subpar Todd McLelland.

Just in time for the Leafs to run smack dab into their New Coach Bump, of course.

Leafs best be taking care of business, because tomorrow night the leafs will be on a back to back facing the still hot Caps with a nice cushy 5 days of rest.

Leafs are still amongst the good teams, but even a 2gm losing streak can plunge them in these fairly packed standings.

Well the Wings have lost 3 in a row and the Leafs 2 in a row, its a crap shoot, Leafs rarely seem to do well after a bunch of days off.
 
I just want to know why the PP always looks infinitely better without Matthews.

I don't understand how it's possible, but it's a constant.
 
It may not produce more (I have no idea if it does or doesn't), but it always looks so much better. Much better movement, more creativity, players moving around, trading places, crisp passes, good shots.

Part of it with Matty is that he always does the same thing on the entry, which is to break in and send a short pass over to whoever is on the left wing, and it often dies there. They really should just run entries through Marner and Willy exclusively. Their success rate of getting in and establishing the zone must be like 95%.

Usually teams with a new coach show up for their 1st game!
 
top of the standings are so close that while the two game "losing streak" dropped us down to 10th overall, if the current scoreboard holds tonight then the Leafs will be in 6th.
