The Canes take on the best in the league.

Hopefully the game against the Kings was impacted by the bug running around the locker room. Svech was a late scratch, Suzuki flew to Chicago and turned right around and flew back. Orlov was bad and rode the pine for the last 8+ minutes. Svech was back to practice yesterday but Jaaska was out. Andersen was listed first in the practice lineup yesterday but if the rotation continues, it should be Kochetkov in goal. They’ll have a morning skate at 11:30 local time, so we’ll see what’s what and where Scott Morrow is playing.

The Jets are top of the league in points, 2nd in points percentage. They have 77 points in 53 games, are 8-2 in their last 10 and winners of 6 straight. Not a team that a virus infested team needs to run into. Mark Scheifele has 31 goals, tied for 2nd in the league. Kyle Connor has 30, tied for 4th. That’s his 4th straight 30 goal season and 7th in his 8 year career. He only came up short in the 56 game Covid season. He’s tied for 5th in points. Josh Morrissey leads with 39 assists. In goal, Connor Hellebuyck leads the league in goals against, save % and shutouts. The Jets lead the league in goals for and against per game and on the PP. They’re 16th on the PK.

FanDuel for TV.

This Jets team is +64 in 54 games. They can score, they can defend, they block shots, they have size to wear you down, speed to get around you and the best goalie in the NHL to stop you. This team is darn good.

Canes on the road, with who knows how many still sick players @Winnipeg tonight? Good luck boys!

Ooh boy, this is going to be a tough one tonight. Even if the flu weren't ripping through the team, this is a steep hill to climb.

If (big if) the boys are feeling better, I think they'll make this a game, and that's all I can ask out of this group against a team as good as the jets.

Yeah this one does not seem like a fair fight when you factor in the flu bug and the MASH unit stuff the past several days in Canesland. I’m going with lowered expectations for tonight…

Winnipeg on the Moneyline has been an underdog all day...that means Vegas has Eric Comrie getting the start tonight (that is the only way that makes any sense).

If healthy, Carolina matches up pretty well with the Jets. If not, then Kooch better be on his toes.

Morrow skated as the 7th dman. All forwards were present and accounted for. Kochetkov was in the starter’s crease.

Blake - Aho - Rantanen
Hall - Kotkaniemi - Svechnikov
Martinook - Staal - Jarvis
Robinson - Roslovic - Jaaska

Slavin - Burns
Orlov - Chatfield
Gostisbehere - Walker

I’m going to drive to Raleigh and sew that f’ing goalie stick to Kootch’s hand. He lets it go after even the softest contact. It’s infuriating. I see normal goalies lose their stick once a game….maybe….he loses it 3 or 4 times a period
