The Canes face their first of what will hopefully be 4 elimination games.

We’ve rehashed the ins and outs, the debits and credits and here we are…the Canes are facing an 0-3 deficit that could easily be 3-0 with some puck luck. Bob is on an historic heater, but Jose Theodore was in 2002 too. A 3rd period for the ages, the debut of The Secret Weapon later and his career was toast. So anything is possible. No word on whether they’re skating this morning, but I don’t expect any changes.

No word from the ol’ gumsnapper about Barkov but he did say it wasn't a long term thing.

TNT for TV. My friend’s handmade Steampunk Stanley will be at the Raleigh Brewing Arboretum location tonight, but Stanley will not be dispensing beer, you’ll have to get it from the bar.

Assuming Barkov will be out, I think Rod probably sticks with the general plan to balance 4 lines and force them to play all four in return. From there, relax and have fun, boys. The worst has already happened in this series.

Interesting to see how the Canes handle this. Do they play like they think they’re going to win 4 in a row? For 3 or more periods?

Just don't pull a Dallas out of the gate like last night!!! Hopefully the boys can bring it on home for Friday night and set the long weekend off in style!

Pretty sure Jordan Staal isn't going to "fall" on anybody, so at least we've got that going for us.

Tonight’s officials:

Referees:
Wes McCauley #4, Dan O’Rourke #9

Linesmen:
Jonny Murray #95, Scott Cherrey #50

Standby officials: Trevor Hanson, Kiel Murchison
Series supervisor: Kay Whitmore

McCauley and O’Rourke also worked together in the 2nd round. We had them for Devils game 1. We had McCauley in the first round, with Frederick L’Ecuyer, for game 4. We had O’Rourke in the first round, with TJ Luxmore, for game 3.

Hurricanes are due for sme bounces to go their way. Can only win one game at a time, so focus on playing the best you can play & let's have the next game in Raleigh. Knock Bob's golden horseshoe loose and make him remember that he's average.
