Unlike the Canes, they win the last time out, beating Dallas, 3-1, in a game that saw Matt Rempe ejected again. He has a Zoom hearing today, expect this suspension to be at least the 6 games an in person/Zoom hearing allows. Artemi Panarin returned from injury on Friday after missing 2 games. He leads with 15 goals and is averaging more than a point per game. Adam Fox leads with 25 assists but only has 1 goal. Igor Shesterkin has started 25 games in goal, and while still decent, his numbers have gotten worse every year since he became the starter. His GAA has gone from 2.07 to this year’s 2.95 and his save % has declined from .935 to this year’s .912. Would the Canes take a goalie with a .912 save%? Absolutely. Shesterkin is backed up by the ageless Jonathan Quick who is at 2.47/.915 in 10 games, 8 of them starts. The Rangers aren’t scoring up to previous standards, 19th in the league. They’re 14th in goals against. They’re 17th on the PP, but the PK is best in the league at 88%, also leading the league in shorthanded goal differential, allowing 12 PP goals and scoring 4 shorties.
