The Canes take on the suddenly relevant Blue Jackets.

After a gutty win in Dallas to close out a back to back, the Canes are home for a night before hitting the road again. The win gave them their first 3 game winning streak since mid-November and a rare sweep of the Stars. With Andersen healthy again, will we see a goalie rotation? We’ll see at the morning skate.

The Jackets are 7-2-1 in their last 10 and coming off a 5-1 win in Toronto last night. Adam Fantilli had his first hat trick and it was in front of his parents, which is always nice. The win moved them into the top wild card spot with 53 points, although they trail Ottawa and Montreal on points percentage. Kiril Marchenko leads with 18 goals, including 4 against the Canes in their 2 shootout wins at home. Zach Werenski has 37 assists and 52 points, 2nd in the league among dmen. During the Stars broadcast, Weekes said he’s the Norris front runner. In goal, Elvis played last night, so we should see backup Daniil Tarasov. He’s at 3.64/.872 in 12 games. The Jackets are tied with the Canes for 5th in goals per game. They’re 26th in goals against. Their PP is good, 10th in the league, but since January 1, they’re 3rd at 33.3%. Over the same period, the Canes are last at a paltry 3.2%. Maybe they can get healthy tonight, the Jackets are 26th on the PK.

Red jerseys tonight. FanDuel for TV

No changes to the lines this morning. Riley Stillman is rotating in on defense, Ghost is missing, he and Mrs. Ghost are expecting a little Ghost. Andersen is in the starter’s crease.

RBA said Ghost is expected to play.

No skate for Columbus, they didn’t get to the hotel until 3 am.

At this point, anybody with half a heartbeat is relevant in the East ... and specifically in the Metro. So, welcome Columbus to the chat I guess. They caved in the Leafs pretty good last night, be a shame if they were tired.

This week's edition of the Canes' adult hockey camp included the opportunity for us to stay and watch the morning skate after we got off the ice. I can confirm that Freddie was in the starter's crease and that Columbus cancelled their planned morning skate. Here are some pics and videos for your enjoyment...
