Tonight would be a good time to start another winning streak.

The 8 game winning streak was snapped in Denver on Saturday. A combination of altitude, a travel snafu and some horrid defending did the team in. Nate MacKinnon had a 4 point night with a goal and 3 assists, Mikko Rantanen had 2 goals and an assist. On the plus side, Jordan Martinook had 2 goals and an assist and is on a 3 game point streak, Svech extended his point streak to 8 games and Martin Necas continued his torrid start with a 2 point night, extending his point streak to 9 games. They didn’t practice yesterday but they’ll have a morning skate, so we’ll see if the 3rd period lines stay intact or revert to where they started. We’ll also have to see where/if Ty Smith and Tyson Jost slot in after their recall from Chicago. We’ll also see if Spencer Martin’s demotion was just on paper or if there is a different backup goalie.

Vegas is 2nd in the Pacific with 20 points in 14 games. They’ve loaded up at home, a perfect 8-0. They’re coming off an OT loss in Seattle on Friday. Pavel Dorofeyev leads with 8 goals, Jack Eichel has 18 assists. Eichel, Mark Stone, Ivan Barbashev and William Karlsson are averaging at least a point per game, although Karlsson has only played 6 games. Adin Hill has started 9 games in goal, he’s at 3.13/.881. He’s backed up by Ilya Samsonov who is at 2.95/.906. Vegas is 2nd in the league in goals per game at 4.36. They’re in a 7 way tie for 11th in goals against at 3.07. Their PP is 3rd at 32.4% and they’re 22nd on the PK.

FanDuel for TV.

Eichel has been absolutely killing it early on, as has Stone. And their size makes for a tough matchup for Carolina on the road. Vegas as currently constructed is very much a 2 line team, so Carolina will have some chances to put on some pressure with their bottom six so long as the top 6 holds their own.

I will always be mad that they are officially known as Vegas Golden Knights instead of what could have made them unique among the big 4 professional sports in North America, a four word team name: Las Vegas Golden Knights. They do not deserve to win any games, so please, Hurricanes, for justice, beat them 28 - 0 tonight.

Meh. Personally, I find the golden thing to be a bit ridiculous and a gratuitous stab at a tie in with the Army Golden Knights parachute team on the part of their owner. The Vegas bit? Don't care, but I refuse to call them the golden anything. To me, they're Vegas or the Knights. I don't even care that they don't care.

RBA said a couple of guys are nicked up, Jost will probably draw into the lineup. No posts on where though, nor on whether Martin was recalled today.

During the media scrum, Hannah asked RBA about Jorge Alves and what he means to the team. She said they’re doing a feature on him tonight in honor of Veterans Day

Canes working the waiver rules with Spencer Martin in an effort to slow down that "30 days on the active roster" clock. For Martin this doesn't matter with his one way contract. For the Canes, these paper moves help prolong how long Martin can actually be available to the Canes before he would have to clear waivers again to be sent back to Chicago.

plus a day's savings on the cap, presumably helping us down the road if we save up enough bread crumbs. Martin gets paid the same on a 1-way but 1-ways in the minors don't count on cap since he's not on a 35+ contract.

Like the KK goal though, give big ups to the assist -- Marty Party is a beast on the shorthanded forecheck and turns over the Knight.

EDIT: looks like the scorekeeper took the apple away from Marty on the play, but it still made the play happen.
