GDT: Eastern Conference Final, Game 5 Canes v. Panthers 5/28 8:00

It’s what we need though.
A big one too. A 6-2", 215+ pound center is the biggest puzzle piece this team is lacking. And there's nothing in the pipeline. They don't grow on trees either. But Aho just isn't a true #1. And the sooner the Canes accept that the better off they'll be.

If he was 6’2” 215 he would be. And if we say we want a 2C that is similarly skilled but big he’d be your 1C.

Aho is great but it’s not possible for him to maintain a high enough energy level to overcome the size disparity for 3 periods or a playoff series. And to compound it we have a top 6 that includes Aho, Jarvis,Blake, Stankoven. So there’s only 2 slots to get size in there. We don’t have those 2 guys on our roster.

The crowd at the LC was awesome last night. When we tied the score and during the final few minutes it felt like the roof was coming off the building. I hated watching the handshake with FL, but that's a beautiful part of hockey tradition.

Officiating? Basically, it sucks, but especially when you play an opponent like FL - where a penalty could be called on every shift and after every stop in play. The Panthers understand the refs won't make a call on all of them due to the sheer volume of infractions, and they know the NHL will always try to "balance" penalties anyway.
The old Frad Shero tactic: "They can't call everyone of them..."
