GDT | Game 39 | at Colorado | Saturday, January 4th | 7:00 PM EST

The greatest game of hockey ever played - Good Friday massacre

Brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it
Yep, I was im standing room behind the whites in the southeast corner.

And, of course, what made that game so great was because we had two teams and two fanbases that had a white hot and absolute hatred for each other. The hate is what made it great.

It was not a good game
It was the best game I ever attended live, and I've been to Cup finals games. The Nordiques didn't just get eliminated, they and their fans were humiliated and had their collective nose rubbed in shit. Rarely in life does a game provide such a catharsis. The only thing that has come close since is when we beat the Leafs in 2021.

I wasn’t there in person, I can imagine how it might have been an experience, but as a game, it was pretty sloppy with a big intermission shit show. Just the fact that they somehow ejected Peter Statsny disqualifies the legitimacy of that game in my book.
