I said yesterday that I didn't care who they get next round but I think I'm all-in on Florida this morning. Very good team, don't get me wrong. The nerdies told the story on them all year and they were a bit unlucky to not finish ahead of Tampa quite frankly. But imo they are clearly worse than Boston on paper and facing Paul Maurice will never scare me too much.

yeah I mean Florida allowed 50+ more goals that we did this year and their coach is Paul Maurice.
also there is no mental baggage facing the Panthers, whereas there would still be some degree of demons with Boston.
having said that if you're asking me for a prediction on tonight I still think the Bruins pull this out.

It'll be a close one is my gut. Maybe even OT.
I'm torn, if the Bruins win we get the #17 pick.
If the Panthers win I get to go to live games.
Really is a tough decision because the games have been great.

The Panthers are good. Honestly, I was surprised at how poorly they started their season and think their second-half play is more indicative of the team they really are. But they're still not as scary as the Bruins.
And I get those who see the Bruins as one of the main remaining ghost of Leaf playoff failures past and a dragon they'd like the Leafs to slay...but I don't really care about that. Give me home ice and the most favourable possible matchup, which means the Panthers.
